The Officers and Members of Local F-271 send our condolences to the Howard County Fire and Rescue Department, IAFF Local 2000, and the family of Firefighter Nathan Flynn.
From Howard County Executive A. Kittleman:
“Firefighter Nathan Flynn died this morning as a result of injuries suffered while battling a seven-alarm fire in Clarksville. Nathan was just 34 years old but had been a member of the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services for 13 years. He was assigned to the “A” shift at Station 10. Nathan was incredibly proud of his firefighting service to the community, describing himself on social media as simply “family man, fireman, brother.” This is the first line-of-duty death of a career firefighter in Howard County, and it reminds us of the dangers faced every day by our first responders. Please keep Nathan’s family, his wife, Celeste, their children and his firefighting family in your thoughts and prayers.”
