Just after 2300 hours Box Alarm 20-04 was transmitted for the roof on fire at 5151 Pooks Hill Road Bethesda Marriott-Congressional Ball Room. The box assignment consisted of Engine Companies 720 750 726 706 and 707 Tower Ladder 751 Truck 706 Tower Ladder 723 Rescue Squad 741 Ambulance 741F and Battalion Chief 702. Engine Company 720 arrived first due and reported a fire on the roof with smoke in the structure. Shortly after Tower Ladder 751 arrived as the first due special service and was directed to the roof. The crew split up and immediately went to work performing primary roof operations and other support functions. Through a coordinated effort quick work was made of the fire and the incident was held to the first due box assignment. A Task Force and Rapid Intervention Dispatch also accompanied the incident.
